Superfund Excise Tax on Chemicals and Imported Taxable Substances

As part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act signed into law on November 15, 2021, Superfund excise taxes imposed on chemicals and imported taxable products will be reinstated effective July 1, 2022 through December 21, 2031. Manufacturers and importers of chemicals and substances containing chemicals may be liable for federal excise tax. Purchasers of these chemicals may see increased prices of these products.
