The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) has selected Sandi Thorman as a Tax Executive Committee member. The American Institute of CPAs is the world’s largest member association representing the accounting profession, with 431,000+ members in 130 countries. The AICPA provides educational guidance materials; develops and grades the Uniform CPA Examination; and monitors and enforces compliance within the profession.
There are currently 669,000+ actively licensed CPAs around the globe. The Tax Executive Committee (TEC) is both an AICPA senior technical committee and a standards setting body, and is authorized to set tax policy on behalf of our members; develop and monitor the enforceable Statements on Standards for Tax Services (SSTS); and oversee the strategy for communicating and creating tools and resources for members to ensure they remain the premier providers of tax services.
