There have been many recent legislative actions in North Carolina, South Carolina and other southeastern states that business owners should be aware of. The NC Legislature has debated significant tax reforms which could impact business income tax, franchise tax and personal income tax calculations for its resident businesses and owners. There are also several changes in 2021 in South Carolina that would provide tax savings for small and mid-sized businesses. We’ll also touch on some broader trends in tax policy across the Southeastern US, including how the various states are dealing with various federal tax provisions from the CARES Act including PPP loan forgiveness, unemployment benefits and other areas. The session will also have a live Q&A to allow participants to ask state and local tax questions critical to them.
Learning objective: the webinar will provide an update of recent state tax changes for professionals that operate mid-sized businesses in the southeast United States.
